Thomas Cook holiday flight changes

I think the monarch flight has been cancelled as the only option on TC website now is a Easyjet flight.
I just didn't like the communication I received from them telling me to call Easyjet directly to check my luggage allowance.
I booked the holiday with Thomas Cook as a package so my contract is with them.
Our friends have also had their flight changed to Easyjet from Monarch & they are flying 2 days later.
Maybe Monarch has lost the contract to Easyjet?
Is it defiantly a Thomas cook package holiday or is with flexible trips, which you also book through Thomas cook, but is actually a flight + accommodation holiday.0 -
Have you not seen the trouble Monarch are in, you should be grateful you've got Easyjet as a replacement, yes its a nuisance its going earlier think yourself lucky its not 6 hours later and you're not getting there till the evening. My friend has had hers changed from east mids return, to flying from Birmingham and back into east mids, this is with travel republic they want £100 more for the Manchester flights if she wants to fly in and out of the same airport. You will get a locater reference as you have to check in online with easyjet as they have no check in desks at airports nowadays. If you had paid for luggage with monarch then you will get it with easyjet as they do like for like when there is a change, although you shouldn't have been told to contact easyjet regarding it they should do that for you, although it will say on your confirmation invoice what allowance you have got if you accept the change. As others ask is it a TC package or a flexible trips package?0

Why? Just an instance - the stack of telephone directories holding up the seat in front of me  Unless they have upgraded their aircraft then I see no difference.Mags - who loves shopping0 -
The OP does not say when her holiday is or where to but I agree with Steph - it may be because Monarch are re-structuring and making changes to their routes.
For example, (I know this doesn't apply to the OP), they are pulling all their long-haul routes and also pulling out of using East Midlands airport.
Re the Easyjet booking ref for on-line check-in:
we booked a package with Olympic Holidays flying with Easyjet and they provided us with the reference so we could check in on-line.
I agree with the OP about hold luggage allowance.
This is likely to have been included with the original package the OP booked - if indeed it was actually a 'proper' package holiday - and she should not have to chase an airline to find out what it is.0 -
We booked it on the Thomas Cook website, it's not a flexitrips holiday.
I think it's just the lack of information from Thomas Cook I'm annoyed with.
I didn't know Monarch had any problems before I booked.
On Thomas Cook website I have looked at manage my booking and it still shows it as Monarch with the original flight times, but we've had several emails conflicting this, on their website it says you cannot check in online for Easyjet
We are not going until next July flying into Faro so hopefully I will get more information before then like what terminal we fly from North or South0 -

Well the Monarch flights are still being sold, so I don't understand why you seem to be refusing to call Thomas Cook to discuss any options you may have?0
