Error Fares

Earlier this morning a user posted a thread with the following link:

http://www.secretflying.com/2014/10/error-fare-business-class-flights-from-munich-to-delhi-for-an-amazing-439-return/

The post has been deleted. Are error fares not allowed on MSE or was in deemed to be spam?

I never saw the thread, but new posters can't post links, so one of the above posts doesn't seem right.

Regarding the site linked to, I've never found a deal that I've followed up, but I check it frequently. It doesn't try to sell you anything directly, but instead points you to airline web sites etc where the deals can alegedly be found.

    Doesn't appear spammy to me.

IMO, it doesn't look like an error fare.

I'm working closely at the moment with a startup airline, and we could (if we had an A330/772) possibly offer something IRO that fare if we really wanted, with a stop in a city other than Brussels.

To fly to further countries, you're often better off flying from another European country (but not generally Germany, which probably explains the stop in Brussels), as the UK and Germany are the only two I can think of with air taxes.

We're able to offer UK to country 2500 miles away for about £240 return, but Ireland to country 2750 miles away for £190 return on both.....India (Mumbai, for the purpose of making comparison easier) is 2200 miles from the stopover city, but also has the highest landing fees :)

In Business Class as per the OP?

I think Austria, France and Italy all have air departure taxes as well.

They didn't give a complete link, simply mentioned the name of the website as secretflying(com).
It was probably deemed to be spam as the poster in question is now PPR. (with a quick search, the original post can be found on Google cache).

No, it's economy. I did find a First Class Qatar airways LHR to SYD for about £1200 return (3 weeks trip in January)

Upon phoning them to check it, it was correct, so that's a family members Christmas present sorted.

With regard to Austria, France and Italy I don't know, as it's not immediately in the plans (bearing in mind there's no AOC yet and the SH workhorse hasn't had the first flight until maybe next year)

Bargains are possible, if you look hard enough :)

Considering Qatar doesn't operate a First Class cabin to Australia I highly doubt you managed to purchase those tickets, let alone for £1,200 :rotfl:

CK may have been mistaken as he's very busy being a singer's agent, producing records, runs a recording studio, sits on two local authority councils and owns a taxi business (this is not an exhaustive list).

And setting up an airline apparently :rotfl:

If you are going to spout BS CKhalvashi a little research wouldn't have hurt.

Perhaps picking an airline that actually operates a First Class cabin on the route would be a start, the airline you picked doesn't even fly to Sydney :T

Business to Melbourne, economy to Sydney, total payment £1248.

Not first, but as I'd booked it in a hurry, for someone else and whilst probably sat in traffic on the M25, I can't be completely to blame.

Errata - because I own something doesn't mean I run it, and DTD, because I'm assisting with something I know enough about to be able to assist, in exchange for tiny majority share, doesn't mean I will be dealing completely with setting up that. I often act as a consultant for startup companies.

Any further personal abuse will be reported. I am here to give my views and help where I can, not to take abuse because I can't remember something from the top of my head.
