Sky installation. White cable on external brick wall

If you want the install to be done right, I would highly recommend not letting Sky do it.
Twice I have had Sky round both times I was left very disappointed.
My current property I waited four weeks to get someone round and had two installers just not show up with no notice.
When they finally did show up, they used a black cable on a rendered house, the tacking was all wonky and the plastic cover was barely holding on. Frankly it looked like cr#p, even from a distance. I honestly believe I could do better in half the time.
I had a local guy come round an install it properly, he moved it to a hidden area of the roof, and wired it through the loft (apparently sky don't have the insurance to do this.) No visible wire no dirty great holes inexpertly drilled through the walls.
I don't remember what he charged, but I remember it not being as much as I thought.
when we moved in and had sky installed, they sent a local third party outfit, I was out and my mother waited in for them...
When I got home I found..
1) Had drilled a massive 20-25mm hole in the external wall for the cables (that they left and I had to fill to stop drafts and insects)
2) drilled a 20-25mm hole through the internal wall to lounge.
3) they left the three huge piles of brick dust on the carpet at both holes.
4) they knocked over a bookcase and broke TWO statues that fell off it..0 -
IF white looks an eyesore then surely black will too?0

oh , sorry , that's terrestrial :j0 -
These days, buyers of new houses expect things that weren't standard in days of old. Double glazing, central heating, etc.
Isn't it time that builders included, as standard, a suitable pre-built mounting point for a satellite dish, on the south-facing elevation, or other suitable point, along with pre-routed satellite cable to a number of points within the home?
So that the installers wouldn't have to butcher peoples' homes to fit this stuff?0
