Digging around, it's a rights issue - the BBC isn't allowed to put the commentary over the net - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/tv_and_radio/7167891.stm
The OP could get something like the Steepletone 2, which does DAM, FM and AM0 -

Unless you want to listen to the football ... as the OP asked
At 3pm on a Saturday on BBC Radio Stoke you get the following:-
Internet = a recorded message saying 'sorry, we can't bring you the football over the radio'
FM = Stoke City
AM = Port Vale
DAB = Crewe Alexandra
Yes, that's similar arrangement BBC Radio Solent has with Bournemouth, Portsmouth and Southampton.0 -

Forget buying a DAB radio. Download an app on your smartphone or tablet called "Tunein". It has over 100,000 radio stations from around the world including all the Uk's national and regional radio stations. Can get it on IOS and Android. You literally are spoilt for choice.
You can save your most listened to stations in your favs and it tells you what song is playing on most of the stations. As you can download it on your phone or tablet you can listen to them anywhere in the world. If you live in Manchester for example and you go on holiday to Australia, the app lets you listen to all local radio stations in Manchester while you are in Oz or any country in the world for that matter.
No need to buy a radio ever again.
