G24 says IAS, sent POPLA, no ID

Hi, G24 sent me a PCN. I appealed to them, and they sent back the standard rejection letter, which says I can appeal to IAS; but they included a POPLA appeal form instead of an IAS form! There is no unique identifier/verification code on the POPLA form, just the words 'IAS Appeal'. OK, I'm confused.
I emailed them telling of the situation and asked them to clarify it. Now I'm worried that that was a mistake on my part! What to do?

Ha ha - G24 are about as incompetent as they come !!!
When was your original 'ticket' ?

You can beat this lot at IAS but will need to say the signs allege breach of contract and the charge was not a GPEOL. Pics of the signs will help. Did you give away who was driving in your first appeal?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

The date of the original ticket is the key. If it was issued any time up to 30th September, the appeals process will be covered under BPA / POPLA; any time after that and it will be the lottery of IPC / IAS.
Please note that, even in the BPA days, G24’s rejection letters included the phrase “Independent Appeals Service” as a generic term referring to POPLA. The POPLA Code would be included within the main body of the rejection letter, so it’s worth double checking the contents of the letter itself rather than just the POPLA form.0 -
The notice was issued on 16 October, so from what you say I will have to appeal it to IAS, not POPLA. But shouldn't G24 have supplied me with a unique IAS identifier of some sort?
Another point: I see that there is a company Parking Ticket Appeals that offers to handle the whole thing for £16. If the fine stands, they will pay it. Has anyone used this service? I am tempted.

No they don't need an IAS identifier.
Yes the service is run by a poster here. Not me. Of course it's kosher, you only had to search the forum for an unusual keyword (not parking, or ticket, or appeals!) but maybe '£16' and you'd find them discussed umpteen dozen times.
But you are missing the point. You can EASILY win this if there are old signs up.

Hi. I have been reading all the parking charge threads for two days now and am so confused as I don't really understand all the jargon. This thread probably most closely relates to my situation so I hope it's ok to reply in here (I have never posted in any online forum before so it is all a bit new to me)
Also g24 in October - overstayed the 90 mins, honestly Didn't see the signs although on going back to look I see they are all over the car park!
Is the standard template under the newbies sticky with points a to e and threefold "purpose of communication" ok to use for my first appeal to G24?
I am unsure about the point (b) as the signs are fairly clear I was just un-observant.
Please help I am so confused now after reading so many posts. Thanks0 -

It would be best if you started your own thread
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
Yes - why is this confusing? (Rhetorical question, please don't answer on someone else's thread). What does the sticky say...it says use the template for all cases. Signs are ALWAYS WRONG OR UNCLEAR. As far as IAS is concerned, for a new PPC just joined, signage is key so get pictures of the signs NOW and start your own thread showing those pics as a broken link by removing the http.Mudislandgirl wrote: »Hi. OK, back to me, the original poster on this thread.

No, I didnt give away who was driving. What's a GPEOL? and what am I hoping to see on the signs?
Thanks.

Genuine Pre-Estimate of Loss. What you are hoping to see on the signs is that their fake fine is supposedly damages for breach of contract i.e. we're looking for words such as "breach" or "contravention".Je suis Charlie.0
