Yes, I got that too. Pretty ironic and makes a mockery of "paperless".Received letter today ref change of terms and conditions with particular reference to the new restrictions opening 2nd accounts, existing 2nd accounts safe for the time being etc.
This letter also confirmed (in bold type) that I am already signed up for internet banking, paperless statements and correspondence, and need to do nothing to continue receiving interest.
Paradox me thinks. Are you for real? - Glass Half Empty??

I received my letter today and, tbh, it had never occurred to me that it would be possible to have more than one of these accounts. Needless to say, I have now opened a second Classic Plus account and I am seriously considering opening a third.0

Original T&C were max 2 sole per person.0 -
I did have a chuckle at being sent a letter informing me that it was a paperless account, and also informing me of terms and conditions that a) I knew about and b) I already comply with.DEBT FREE!
Debt free by Xmas 2014: £3555.67/£4805.67 (73.99%)
Debt free by Xmas 2015: £1250/£1250 (100.00%)0 -
Same here.....a pointless letter, waste of money.0

OH got the letter, I didn't. He checked, and he is properly registered. Most odd!
Letters still being delivered. I only got mine yesterday.
The letter states your current setup, so no need to check if you agree

The letter is to keep you fully informed.
There was alarm and uproar on this board when TSB introduced the ability to receive paperless correspondence in June this year, with the suggestion you would not get your monthly interest if you didn't sign up, and allegations TSB were being sneaky by not telling people about the change.

Well this letter does tell you about the change, and the fact interest will not be paid if you fail to comply with the terms (now the ability exists) with effect from 31 January 2015.
The only requirement they insisted on before this to receive the interest is/was to pay in at least £500 a month .
The letter also advises you of the change to their terms in regards to the number of accounts permitted to be opened, as you mentioned.
Agreeing to receive paperless correspondence does not mean the bank will never write a good old fashioned letter to you again.
Failing to agree to paperless correspondence would mean the bank will not correspond with you by such means.0 -
UPDATE - I called TSB this morning to register my new account for gross payment of interest, and the very knowledgeable Jacqueline picked up after a single ring and dealt with my request without any hesitation, repetition or deviation. How refreshing was that!?MegaMiniMouse wrote: »I received my letter today and, tbh, it had never occurred to me that it would be possible to have more than one of these accounts. I also asked her to check that both of my accounts were in compliance with the new requirements and (again without any umms&ahhs at all) she told me that I needed to go online in order to switch my new account to paperless billing and correspondence, but that my older account was already was already in full compliance. She also confirmed that no complications would arise from the fact that, at the end of November, my new account will not have a full month's history of full compliance. I have made a note of the date and time of the conversation, as well as Jacqueline's unique identifying number.
Jacqueline - thank you for making an old man happy!0 -
I got mine yesterday. Perhaps they were sent out in reverse order, with those who got the accounts first receiving them last.
Either way a bit of a waste of paper for those who are already on top of things.0 -
I much appreciated receiving the information, not least because there is a very important change in T&Cs (1 sole Plus account max) that does, however, not apply to people who already have 2 sole Plus accounts, or manage to get them before the deadline.
However, I would have been quite happy to receive this correspondence paperless, as I had selected that option months ago.....0
