Hi,
So what do you have?
I'm going with a joint of Ribeye this year as I had it at Easter and it was amazing. But I have had Turkey before and made it taste great.

We always have chicken! Prefer it to turkey and it's much cheaper.0

We have 2 Christmas dinners.
The first we cook for my MIL the week of Christmas, we usually cook beef or chicken.
We go to my mums on Christmas Day and have 2 meats, usually a ham and turkey0 -
A couple of years ago I did the whole turkey thing as usual, it took up ages, even though I told myself it was a glorified roast, it felt more than that. The kids didn't really enjoy it, their Dad didn't enjoy it, and neither did I. We made a decision then that we would decide what we wanted, and came to the decision that homemade lasagne and garlic bread was the favourite. So that is what I will be doing!January GC: £64.81/£80.00
February GC: £24.60£80.000 -
We've a family tradition of Pork, with every reasonable veg & trimming.
All cooked by husband in full 'chef' mode with the rest of us 4 as minions. A restful day it isn't, until the meal is eaten, at which point we are happily incapacitated.
The leftovers (mostly veg) become a thick soup - I think our youngest thinks that's the *real* Christmas meal & would be horrified if we were to change things!
In a few years time, it'll be interesting to see what we move to or stick to, but knowing there's soup does take the hassle off cooking later.0 -
Whatever we feel like, really. One time it was Cumberland sausage with roast veg, once it was Chinese. At the moment my favourite for this year is the beef joint with stilton and port I saw in the tesco catalogue, will probably change week on week though!0

I think what makes it special for us is the trimmings - my parents have roast every week but it's the pigs in blankets & bread sauce that make it :P
And of course the desserts, only have them on special occasions!0 -
Roast lamb as we prefer it to anything else, plus it's expensive so it makes a nice treat at Crimbo.0
