Seller is being slightly OTT -if the sale ended Saturday the chances of posting before Monday are slim to non . Maybe they didn't get what they were hoping for it.

Out of interest what do you do if buyer doesn't pay within your time frame?

Start compulsively checking my email every 3 minutes and sit fretting until they pay!

After a couple of days I'd send a message asking if they had any idea when they'd be able to pay, nothing scary.

Your seller is being OTT, but it might be worth dropping them a message, explaining that you didn't have internet connection when the action ended, but made sure you paid as soon as you could.
You can score them accordingly on communication when you leave feedback.

Really? As a normal person who doesn't use ebay that often, I have put bids on things then forgot about them for a bit as I've not noted the finishing day/time.
I'm not a late payer or a non-payer and I only bid on items I genuinely want, but I do have better things to do over a weekend that keep checking ebay in case I've won something. I'd be very miffed if someone was harrassing me less than 24 hours later and certainly wouldn't be sending messages to explain myself within this (or even a 2 day) time frame. All they're doing is setting themselves up to ensure an extremely picky buyer.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
  • I think you misunderstood my point, I was suggesting that the OP explain to the seller that not everyone is online the minute an auction ends, or in following hours, but that doesn't mean they don't still want it.

I had a case opened against me because I paid too quickly! They said I should have waited for an invoice.. They had wanted more for the item and probably hoped I would be a NPB...

Now you've paid, wait until 9am on Tuesday and start pestering them about non-delivery.

This type of idiot rarely likes it up 'em.

The item has arrived, and is as described. I therefore have to decide what feedback to give.

the stars are easy - 5 for post and packing, 5 for as described, and 1 for communication.

But should I leave negative or neutral?

I am inclined to go negative because of the way I feel about the whole transaction, but I have never left a negative feedback before and wonder if I am being harsh.

    What do you guys think?

Personally I don't think neutral or neg is warranted here. But I would leave a low for comms. Ultimately though, whatever you do, he can only get 1 defect.

It depends on how you feel. If the unreasonable way the seller acted tainted the transaction and made it unhappy for you then you should leave at least neutral if not negative. If however you are generally happy with the item and the speed it was sent then I would leave negative. It really depends on how you feel. Personally I would leave positive feedback mentioning the positive aspects of the transactions, with 1 for communication.

It could have been far worse outcome with no item. The seller might have been a bit over excited about selling something and think because they are on Ebay 24 hours a day, everyone else is.

Really though as long as your feedback is reasonable, you should just leave it based on how you feel and not pay much attention to what everyone else thinks. If the transaction was unpleasant for you due to this, then you should leave feedback that reflects that.
