Thanks LJ but although I have the disk I do not have a spare key. Don't really want to give in on this, it is not my style to give in, but getting rather frustrated with it.
Just a thought as Vista Media Centre is lower than Business would they let me downgrade to that?

it isnt classed as a downgrade to vista MC you can only go down a version of windows. Im not 100% sure on the need for an available ky you may be able to use another that is currently in use as your install is being used on the vista licence.
I know I don't like to give in but when it comes to vista it isnt failure it is common sence. there are a few basic problems with vista that don't work and file handeling is one of them delete especially.0 -
