Goodbye BT

Finally got around to leaving BT. An aborted attempt at switching my BB provider (different company), meant that they cancelled the BT DD because they were going to take over the phone line.
Just got the bill through and the line rental is best part of £20pm, don't ask, we don't have any add ons, it just seems higher than everybody else is paying.
Any how, the missus phoned them and said we wanted to go back to DD, the way we were. And if they'd helped, they'd still be getting their £20pm line rental. But no, we got Patel from India, who could only tell us that 'the computer says no'.
They wanted the bill paying in full, before they stuck us back on DD. Missus said, but at least £60 of the £70 bill is upfront line rental, we've got less than £10 actually owing. No can do, pay in full.
A quick check on the Internet found the Post Office as £13pm line rental and now we have a letter from BT saying we will get a revised bill - they'll get the tenner we owe them and no more and all because they wouldn't play ball with a long standing customer.
