Hi
I am looking for advice regarding my credit file. I have Nationwide Credit Card which has now been passed onto their internal collections agency KRP. I opened the credit card account in 2007 and defaulted in 2010. Since 2010 it has been with KPR, the balance is £2025. There is no way I can pay this off and I am currently have a lot of debts. My current agreement is to pay £1.00 per month (thats all I can afford to pay towards this) Ive been paying KPR money for 4 years, they barley hassle me now. feels like Iam flushing money down the toilet because I am sure this is just interest iam paying.
Any suggestions on how to get this debt removed.

Thanks for your comments. Ive contacted step change and they suggested to pay the £1.00 per month. As this is such an old debt is there any point paying £1.00 per month for a £2025 credit card debt thats 4 years old when its going to get removed off my file after 6 years??0

Morally, you owe the money - you have spent it, so should repay it."Facism arrives as your friend. also want to risk a ccj, clock stops after last payment / acknowledgmentDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Also - I don't know if you're thinking it will drop off in two years, but it won't - it's six years from when you last make a payment or acknowledge the debt. As you've been paying it, albeit at only £1 per month, it won't drop off until 2020."Facism arrives as your friend. Do you mean that you want the debt written off by KRP, or that you want it to be removed from your credit file?
It will drop off your file 6 years from the default date on there - it doesn't matter whether you still owe money on it, are still paying it or whatever. It will drop off 6 years from the date that the default was registered.
If you mean that you want to debt written off by KRP, that totally depends on them. It's probably unlikely thoughFritterati Challenge for 2013:

As has been touched upon by others, although a record may drop off your credit file it doesn't mean the debt is done and dusted. As long as the creditor has all relevant records then the debt is still enforceable and non-payment could result in a CCJ.
You say you feel like you're flushing money down the drain??? Paying £1 a month on a £2k debt and you feel hard done by? Jeez! You borrowed the money... if it's a legitimate debt (ie enforceable) then you need to make headway into getting on a DMP for all of your debt and get it paid off. If a DMP isn't going to help then maybe you need to think about more drastic measures.0 -
Any suggestions on how to get this debt removed.
Assuming they have recorded a default on your credit file, then all trace of the account will be removed from your credit reports 6 years from that initial recorded default date. That will happen whether or not you are still paying it off at that point.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
