Chances of being rejected??

Basically I went to get something on finance today from who I've previously had in the past (always paid back on time etc) but I forgot my card so didn't go on with the application. To save me going back home to get it, my husband tried applying for it in his name and card as it's a joint account. He got rejected. I think it's based on him having poor credit previously.
I'm hoping to go back tomorrow and use my own card to proceed with what we're after but what are the chances of me being rejected because he was? I've had several finance loans of this company previously and always paid back on time. It's never been a problem with me applying again. However, would his rejection really dampen me applying now?
TIA for replies!

Simply no way of knowing what the outcome maybe.0

Also, is there somewhere I can check if my husband and I are linked? And if so, does a check affect your credit?
I'm really worried now that him applying today has affected me, even though I've always applied from a joint account over the last 5 years. But only I've ever applied from it. Would they check during the application process that it's a joint account or would tey only realise from him applying and linking the 2?
Sorry for all the questions!0 -

Thanks for the reply. Everywhere I'm reading says he being joint with me will affect me so I'm in a bit of mylee with it all. So confusing.0 -

If you are applying for credit in your name alone. Then you'll be the one that is "scored" for suitability. Your husband's history or current circumstances will have no bearing.0 -
Yes, credit has always been in my name only (husband's surname). I've always had it in my name but it just so happens to come out of a joint account because it's where our direct debits come out of.
So am I right in thinking it's ok to use the joint bank account but as long as it's only my name on the application and not my husband's the finance shouldn't be affected?
Thank you again!0 -
Where you make payment from for the finance isn't an issue.
If your joint bank account is run in overdraft. Then this may well score against you.0 -
No, no overdraft at all. I was just worried because he was rejected from the joint account card and then I was reading about joint accounts being associated with bad credit to someone who's credit is fine. So I was worried about how I was affected.
So his credit shouldn't affect mine regardless of the joint (and only)account as long as we don't put both our names on the application?
Your replies are much appreciated! Thank you.0 -
Hopefully all will go well for you tomorrow.0

Thanks for replying Yorkshire. Argh this is so confusing lol. I've only ever been the one applying until today. So would they ask for permission to search his history before they proceed with the application?
I'm still paying out on something from them and it's always paid on time. I've paid with them on several items over the last 4 years so surely that should count as something - that I myself can be relied to pay back on time. I'd never take something out if I couldn't pay back.0 -
Hmm Yorkshire's post seems to be deleted. I know it's late but I'm sure I saw another post.0
