It would depend on the circumstances, they don't always remove apparently abandoned vehicles, but they have the authority to remove them if they consider it necessary at the time.

Taxed and insured = legal to be there.

Just because the car was licensed and insured does not mean it could not be considered to be abandoned.

So you keep saying, that why I said.

I'd speak to the vehicle recovery manage and asked what part of Section 99 they used.

If it is considered to be broken down or abandoned, s.99(1)(c) gives the authority.

One thing we don't know yet is where it was left(/parked/abandoned) when the battery had a little lie down. I suspect that's the key to whether it was presumed abandoned and/or removed to prevent further vandalism.

Hi everyone, thanks for replies again.
Car was left on the side of the road, even policeman said it was safe place . I live in quiet place, events of vandalism are very rare here.

But what road? A normal residential road with other cars parked up? Or a trunk route with nothing else parked?

Residential - rural road. There were cars parked on that road, but on town side. My car was parked literally 50 meters outside town sign. On the side, didn't cause any disruption.
