Hello all
A busy weekend in the ss household.
Yesterday we did our monthly big shop at Aldi. Along with all the usual monthly shopping we also bought a new kettle (OH has been repairing old one but it started to trip the electric every time we switched it on). Paid £15 and, while not as stylish as the old deLongi one (I know, I know - it doesn't match the toaster either but I am learning to compromise) it does the job.
Have eaten (really well) from home all weekend.
Took the car to a friends house - her hubbie helped my OH to have a good look underneath. No new exhaust needed, just a bit of work to reattach heat shield. Phew!
Have reviewed last three years energy bills. Educated myself to the point that I now know how many units we typically use and how much they cost (depending on the unit price). Feel able to do battle with energy company (they reckon we owe them circa £700, I reckon they owe us circa £400). Wish me luck!
Hope you have all had a good weekend x
Forgot to say I also phoned Barclaycard to ask for an interest rate reduction yesterday. The advisor clearly didin't know what to do or say (I told him a "colleague" had been given a rate of 6.9% for 2 years and he put me on hold for 20 mins (I take it that's a no!) but I will try again on Monday.0 -
After a wasted journey into town (but didn't pay for parking) I've finally got my new contract sorted! Done a few loads of washing on a quick wash (need to utilise that more) and dried on the line. Also listed a few bits on e*ay - few more to do but can't at te no because if selling restrictions. No bids or watchers yet but they're on for a week so fingers crossed I get a good price - two still have tags on! Lovely roast with all stuff in the house. Should be a NSD tomorrow and must earn more swag bucks!Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
Current debt - £5,435.00
Total paid off - £10,165.89 (65% paid off)0 -

I applied and was accepted for a 16 month 0% spending c/c. This is for the sole aim of Christmas shopping. There is no other way for me. I did it last year and paid it off within 6 months.Mortgage 22 years £190,419 at 2.84% fixed for 2 years from 1st July 2014
