hello! yesterday the kiddies had their swimming lessons and then we stayed in all afternoon doing a major declutter of ds's bedroom, it was disgusting haha! all sparkly clean now ready to decorate! the only problem now is I have even more junk on the landing and in my room! so close to getting the house done now though! I think I need to take advantage of bonfire night this year and use it to burn all my boxes of paperwork that take way too long to shred!
Today we are going to football practice in a bit, then when we get back I am cooking a roast mmmmmm! then going to carry on with the house clean, and hopefully steam the wallpaper boarder of dd's room. and do some ironing.... and then its 3 nightshifts for me woop woop!
happy sunday

Morning,
Haven't been posting this weekend as have been enjoying our anniversary weekend together (13 years), but just thought I'd drop by to say we stuck to our anniversary celebrations agreed budget of £40, & even though we bought a few treats, the final grocery shop for October came in on budget.
Have a nice Sunday, everyone. I love Hampton Court & have also been to Kew Palace as my sister lives in London & we often have a trip out when we're down there.
Dawn-It's been a great year for veg, hasn't it? My butternut squash plants played up & the peas failed but everything else cropped well & I'm still picking radishes, watercress & rocket.......as well as dealing with buckets of apples.

Yes, brilliant
My garden is tiny really, but it is amazing how much can be grown in a small space. I have one biggish L shaped raised bed for veg, a smaller, semi shady one where I have planted raspberries, rhubarb, some herbs (chives have planted themselves) and flowers, and lots of pots and hanging baskets. I am going to change the large raised bed, adding 4 minarette fruit trees at the back by the fence, as not much in the veg line seems to grow there in any case. I still have carrots, beetroot, leeks, rocket, autumn raspberries and the odd strawberry is still appearing

Dawn - We have the typical long narrow garden which goes with a 1930s house. It's about 30 feet wide, but 130 feet long. About a third of it is used for growing veg, plus we were lucky when we moved in that there were 3 mature fruit trees already there - a conference pear, apple & greengage. We've still got lots of leeks to pick, also we went out to have a look this morning & most of the broad bean seeds have germinated & one variety of garlic is already shooting nicely. We could probably be much more self-sufficient if I converted most of the rest of the garden to veggies, but we also garden for wild life & I love my flower borders, so I'm happy to leave things as they are at the moment. I've made a good start on clearing things for winter, but still lots, lots more to do. All fresh air & free fitness though :-)

Afternoon All
Well that was a thoroughly enjoyable family day out. We managed to get to the Tower for 10.30am then stayed till 1 by which time it was so packed we were glad to leave. We soaked up the atmosphere, enjoyed the actors playing people like Sylvia Pankhurst talking about the war & how it wasn't for working class people, & felt very moved by the sea of poppies that are currently on show outside the Tower. Apparently there is one poppy for every soldier who has died so far.
We spent time in the white tower but did not venture to see the crown jewels today as the queues were beyond anything I've ever seen. Half term week and all that.
We ate our sandwiches whilst watching the ravens, & the once we left the tower passed by The Monument as well.
Total spend for the day £5 which covered 2 coffees & an ice cream for son.
Even better there were no trains running so we are on a rail replacement bus home which the oyster reader is broken on so no spend on the bus either!
Not a bad day out
Foxgloves - happy anniversary to you & Mr F." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Oooh, another 2 items sold on ebay this afternoon, meaning an additional £11.50 for the Bathroom Fund. Not a fortune, but it all adds up & I love the decluttering aspect. Received payment for a £35 eBay sale too, yesterday.....we'd advertised it in the local paper, local Facebook pages & 3 times previously on ebay.....the 4th time, it finally sold. Glad we persevered.

Foxgloves, I'm hoping to save for a new bathroom fund too. Is your total amount based on a quote? What are you getting done? I have zero idea how much to aim for!
I've had a no spend day today - lovely walk with friends earlier and now about to get into PJs and watch Strictly. Such a lovely day.0 -
Good Evening All
Bagpuss - Thanks for starting us off this weekend.
Ratison - have you thought about making a chalkboard - use an old picture frame minus the glass and paint with chalkboard paint (Wilko sell small tins) or even make a dry/wipe board - use an old picture frame, put some paper behind glass and use dry wipe pens to write on glass
DawnW - the chalkboard labels came free with a magazine I was given
Apologies for not posting yesterday but had a bit of a busy day, hubster worked the morning and then we had a 4 hour drive to pick grandson up so he can stay for the week.
Today has been a strange day too as our son came with his other 2 boys - (think he may have had a row with his partner and wanted some time out, lol) - so we had them to feed too - made a dent in the shopping we'd just put away but could have been worse he could have brought all of them (his daughter wanted to stay with mummy):p Am sure life will get easier for them as the children get older they are just finding it difficult them all being so young (boy @4, boy @2 and twin sister@2 and then they have regular visist from his eldest son at 7 so at times its a madhouse, lol)
Today we have
Shopping with coupons and loyalty card
Washing
Meals from stores
Entered a few comps
Bit of decluttering (in sons room) which one of grandchildren insisted on taking home - bet his mums loving me - a remote control car, a blow up guitar and various football cards
Watching dvd's from cupboards
Repotted my Peace Lily
Potted a box ball in tub near front door
Hope you have all had a great weekend. Night all
