Are you saying that GTC are only charged for once and dont count as part of your 200 free ? I thought GTC were charged for every time they rolled over

No, sorry it is my bad explanations again.

I have around 300 items that roll through my business account. Around 50 of them are my bread and butter stock and they are GTC. The remaining ones take turns in 'using' the remaining 150 free listings.

I used to have more than 50 GTC but closed some to add to the 'rolling stock' as they were not strong enough sellers.

I've given up- I do what works for me now and just hoping that a new site comes online soon so I am not totally reliant on ebay.
I fear they'll all be using 'sophisticated' search mechanisms anyway. Amazon do. At least with Amazon I can pay a small amount on advertising that gives some products a boost.
Trying to understand Google's search is big business, as far as I can tell as soon as someone masters it they change the rules.
Facebook also works in mysterious ways, some posts will be inexplicably popular and others will only be seen by one person in 10,000.
I think the point I was making is that all big companies use their own methods of making people spend more money to use their site. The difference with Ebay is they haven't yet worked out how to screw people for more money to boost them in search.

I think we are all hoping for this Has anyone heard any rumours about any new sites ?

Me too ! I sell second hand clothes so I need a good auction site. I'm already sick of Ebay with its petty rules and defects - yet it's rubbish at its own IT.

They have tried it before, it was way too expensive and didn't work well. If it's like Amazon's then it may be good. Amazon I can spend as little as £1 per day and see when I have sold products from it, so on Sunday I spent about £4 on advertising and sold around £200 of product. It's also pay per click, so if no one clicks I don't spend anything, which is ideal for a few niche items I have that few people want but are nice profit.

I can see Ebay's ending up being swamped by overseas sellers and fakes.

I doubt I'll receive one, I never get things like that.
