Has anyone had any problems posting mail to Japan?

I've had a request from someone in Japan to ask if I would post an item there. Has anyone ever had a problem with mail not arriving in Japan? I suppose it's the same as everywhere though that the occasional parcel can go missing. I've had 2 to my niece in Australia go missing over the last couple of years. Just wondering…

You still have the standard 'insurance' on allowable items of £20, same as in the UK.
