Hi all
I am about to transport my dishwasher from the UK to Spain in our car.
Before we set off, I think it would be advisable to cleanse it thoroughly but I'm getting conflicting suggestions as to how to proceed from the internet.
One site says empty and give it a wash with bleach (?!!)
Another suggests a wash with baking soda. Can anyone give me a really trustworthy tried and tested suggestion that I can rely on - I rely on you guys to help me out whenever I need it!
Many thanks in advance.0 -
I'm pretty sure white vinegar and bicarb would do the trick but not sure about exact quantities. Hopefully someone will be along in a minute!0

Just use vinegar, put a cup in the bottom of your dishwasher and use a high temp programme, let it run through the cycle. Sorted.0

I run half a bag of soda crystals through mine when it needs cleaning.I Believe in saving money!!!:T

I don't suppose it's to do with the fact I don't use salt or rinse aid separately as I get the Finish 3-1 tablets? I've had this problem before but I can't remember when the then BF done to it. Do you have to clean out the filter or something?
I've also read on here about sourcing the best brand? what's yours?
I've decided that I need to buy cheaper.
Thanks.0 -
Hi
I think your dishwasher just needs to be cleaned. I get that and I take off all the bits I can and clean them all then I put a hot wash on with half a cup of soda crystals on the bottom shelf. That has always worked for me.
When the glasses get cloudy I put more salt in the bit at the bottom but that doesn't effect the gritty stuff in the mugs and glasses.
I use whatever tablets/powder I get cheap.0 -
You need to clean it.. and add salt and rinse aid..
Hottest wash it does with a cleaning solution of some sort.. and the filters should be cleaned regularly. If it hasn't been done recently or at all then it may need a few runs through cleaning cycles before all the build up of solidified fat and dirt has dissolved and been removed.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
When that happens I put salt into it.
I use Asda own brand0 -
