    So what has cost your son finanically because of this incident?

    I don't think the son should be paying rent on the room during the time it is uninhabital.

    I think you son needs to speak to his institution's Student Housing officer and at least update them on the situation. They may offer advice and specific actions.

    Your sons has to put the claim in, you cant. They also ask for medical records. Dont expect your money anytime soon, im still waiting a year on.
    Did he go to a and e? They ask for hospital records before they send you for an independant medical.
