Tried Saga, Staysure & Goodtogo online (using the closest type of cancer to mine available in their options) and they came in at...
Staysure £134
Goodtogo £122
Saga £2,656:eek:.
Obviously I'll need to talk to them to be more specific when I have more time but a couple definitely worth investigating; and one to steer clear of! Thanks again all.“Procrastination is my middle name....well it would be if I could be ar**d to contact Deed Poll."0 -
Insure and go were very good for diabetic & hypertensive 91yr old Dad in law recently and for husband (diabetes, hypertension, IBS, hiatus hernia, back pain) we use Insure and Away.0

We also used MacMillan when Mr Spouse had recovered sufficiently from his cancer to feel the need for a holiday. It really felt like the final straw after all we'd been through to discover that, just as he was starting to feel better, we couldn't get insurance for a much-needed break. MacMillan saved the day!No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...0

MikeJO, I was looking on the Macmillan site just last week & whilst some people paid up for full cover, others said the same as what littlereddevil said & asked not to be insured for the cancer. Also mentioned was a £10 monthly policy from the bank, which I shall enquire about myself. I've had similar quotes, who are these people! Although a few of the quotes you've got are not bad. All the very best, & do let us know if you come up with an affordable insurance.0

We use Staysure. Yes there are cheaper but the proof of a good insurer is not how much it costs but how they deal with you when you claim. We had to cancel our holiday this year due to illness which was an existing condition that I had declared. They paid up without a quibble. When it became clear that we could not travel again for a long time they allowed us to cancel the remainder of our annual policy and refunded the months that were left even though we had already had a claim. I will definitely use them again when I am well enough to start going away again.0

A refund as well - that is above the call of duty - well done them.:TGardening_Girl wrote: »We use Staysure.
