Hi all, I received the email a while ago stating about bts price hike and took the plunge to leave bt, the end date for my contract is today.
I have gone with talktalk, however they have said that bt are blocking them as bt are disconnecting the line!!! I will be without internet etc from midnight tonight until 31st oct!!not only that,i will be lumbered with paying for a new line to be installed.
the goon I am on the phone toat present has me on hold and the bloody phone has just disconnected after 25mins ont he line gahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

Did you cancel with BT or ask TalkTalk to take over ?0

i asked to end the contractg,they gave me an end date of today,i then asked talktalk to take over0

i put an order in with talktalk on 14the for them to take over,bt blocked it as they had an 'order' on th eline to cease it. now onto talktalk again....0

That's where you went wrong. You should have requested that Talk Talk take over the line. Then it would have remained connected and you would have kept your phone number.
By having a cease, there is no line for Talk Talk to take over.0 -
And it usually takes 14 days to get set up so I think you will be without phone and broadband for well past 31st of October. also, by cancelling with BT you do know you will lose your telephone number?
Best course of action is to stop the cancellation with BT and then get talk talk to take over the line. BT service will cease the day it starts with talk talk and you will be able to keep your number if desired.
Being it goes off today, it may be too late though.0 -
You will also get a £30 cease charge if you didn't use a MAC0
