Spent £160 last year. Plus some free wood and pallets which probably doubled the wood I bought.

Gas for hot water, some gas heating when it's really cold just in the mornings before work.
  • 160 i thought i did well at 260, saying that still have half the fuel left from last year, i have only spent 120 this year though

    Varies quite a bit.

Last year was pretty mild so i'd guesstimate less than £200 based on what i had left over.

Couple of years ago when it briefly got down to -20 i'd say i spent at least £300 and probably more.

I actually spent nothing......but probably burnt about 150 pallets !!!
However there was a cost in fuel used collecting them & sawing them up.
    So not really nothing.
I am fortunate that I can collect them when it is dry, cut them up & store them.

zero..... all sourced FOC, chopped by me, stacked and seasoned for a couple of years.... get ahead for a few years then you only have to replace one year at a time!

I spent about £200 on briquettes, no gas so only heating is wood burner. My electric bill was £140 for year,
2 bedroom bungalow, 201 years old, walls are 2 foot thick and last year had double glazing fitted. Previous year was about £300.

Due to such a mild winter only 2 x 50kg bags of smokeless and free wood. In total about £36. I only light my stove at weekends.

must be great if you can source free wood for the majority

i hear wood has risen sharply since the woodburner became popular is this true??
