Who said it should be there by the 20th?

That will have been eBay. My delivery times are the same- I offer next day (not same day) dispatch 2nd class and eBay tell my buyers it will be there on day 3 or 4 after they pay- not even 3-4 days after I ship.

    Absolute rubbish timescale.

I don't think it's unreasonable that I didn't pay for guaranteed delivery for an item I ordered a week before needed......

on the evidence I'd say you need a rethink on that. To reiterate, RM delivery estimates are just that. No guarantee whatsoever.

Ha yes Soolin, but i wanted the OP to quote the bit where it says "estimated delivery ......."

I was then going to link to the dictionary meaning of ESTIMATED

No-one said it would be there by the 20th, and certainly not the seller.

Just to note the point techspec is making (before I ruined it) - I bought an item at about 11pm last night, 1 day dispatch, 2nd class and that shows as

Estimated delivery Mon, 27 Oct - Tue, 28 Oct

    - note 'estimated'

Ha ha - its just my way - i tend to draw the obvious out of the person - rather than just stating it. Much more fun.

Of course, its totally possible the seller did send late. But buying an item you need urgently on the net, using the slowest mail service possible - and then relying on an estimated delivery date is just not clever.

On a related subject - Ebay now don't allow INR claims to be opened before the ETA.

But its a useless policy - as a buyer bought an item on Saturday and opened a claim with PAYPAL on Monday - giving me a defect. ETA is 27th October.

He said he opened the case because i was unresponsive. Bad me for having a life at the weekend.

Ive changed my dispatch back to 2 working days ( it was 1 day ) Ive no intention of wanting to be a premium seller cause of the free postage requirement -so I might as well go for the two days. In fact im at the PO every day so all parcels will either go on the day of payment or very next day - this will hopefully then beat ebays estimated delivery timescales and make the buyer 5 star happy :)

I've had 2 'where is my item' emails this week already, both from Spain . In both cases the ebay estimate was 4-6 days from purchase. I assume I am supposed to fly the items out myself to attain those estimates.
