  • Hi, All,

I've been searching for a while and this is the best I've found:

    The Quote itself: £443
    • Who the quote is from: Lastminute.com and Opodo
    • Is there a booking fee: No
    • The Tour Operator/Airline/Hotel: Emirates
    • The departure Airport/Post: London Gatwick - return to Heathrow
    • The Holiday Dates: 28 Nov - 28 Dec 2009
    • The number of people travelling (inc kids ages): 1
    • The Hotel (or * if it’s allocate on arrival): n/a
    • The Board (self catering/half board etc): n/a
    • Any specific requirements: Would have liked to return on 30th Dec but more expensive...could also leave on 29/30th Nov if it means a return on 30th Dec. Prefer late afternoon/evening flights.
    • Is an in-flight meal included: I hope so!!
These flights are 18h05 there (1h35 stop-over) and 19h25 return (2h10 stop-over) via Dubai. The minimum time required for a connecting flight is 1 hour so, the excellent deal with Qatar for £368 is out as the time allowed, outbound, is only 30 min  !!

There are MUCH cheaper flights available if I'm willing to travel for 25-30 hours, which I am not  !! (Unless, of course, there is overnight stay included at stop-over and the total cost does not exceed the above quote. I have a South African passport so, visas would need to be considered if not an airport-based hotel.) Also, there is a good price of £409 with Afriqiyah Airways (via Tripoli, Libya) but I have been warned against it as the flight to Cape Town is new and only begins operation as of September. I have been warned that this could be cancelled and I may not be refunded.

This is a trip to visit my family ~ first Christmas home in 10 years!!!

    Can anyone beat £443 :D ??

    Thanks in advance!
I am now able to extend my dates. So far, the best is (leaving London) 3rd Dec (can't leave later that than, though) to 12th Jan (leaving Cape Town) with Turkish Airlines -> £422 via Netflights. This is 6 weeks, which I can't extend either...but can move dates either way (just not later than 3rd Dec). I would have liked perhaps 5 weeks but leaving sooner than 12th Jan gives largely different prices. Would also like to leave after New Years' so, earliest departure from CT would be 2nd Jan.

    Anyone
