We are a family of 3 which consists of 2 adults and a 10 year old. We are looking at booking a holiday abroad for 2 weeks during July or August 2009(school holidays) I'm surrounded by brouchres and eyes gone strange looking at different web sites! Has anyone got any ideas for a family holiday (close to a good beach), half board (beacuse I also need a holiday) and for less that £1400. I've been looking at Menorca, Majorca, Canary Islands Turkey etc. We need to fly from either Birmingham or Manchester and would ideally prefer 2 weeks.

Can anyone help prevent me going mad?

Hi, Booking a Holiday to Venice. 17th Aug-23rd Aug. Here is our quote from Expedia, can you beat it? Note the price of £766 includes airport parking. If you do not want to include that in your package we can obtain it ourselves for about £59. We would consider an alternative hotel if that helped you but it would need to have a good reputation, airconditioning and central venice location. Our flight is from Gatwick on this quote but we actually live in Manchester so would be happy to fly from the North West as well as Gatwick.

Hi all,

Looking for a late deal for the family in the school holidays. Will consider anywhere as long as it is family friendly but the best I have found on the net so far is in Ibiza. Trying for as close to £1000 as possible but may up it a bit if it was all inclusive.

My family and I went to Dubai last year and had a fab time. We stayed at Hilton Jumeirah last time in the family suite (as our eldest then was 11, and the family suite can accomodate 2 adults and 3 children under 12).

But this year eldest is now 12 and deemed an adult with most airlines, and at most hotels.

Suite prices are expensive, so we are happy to have 2 rooms as long as they are interconnecting. (Not keen on staying in apartments either). The Hilton Jumeirah was fantastic, but we'd like to try another hotel this year. Really wanted to stay at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel (as the kids loved Wild Wadi), but prices here are extorientate !

So have managed to get the following for Habtoor Grand Hotel on Jumeirah Beach in Dubai :
