Beat My Quote! Travel Agents Thread

  • I am posting on here but hope I don't upset anyone by not exactly meeting the criteria.

I booked our first holiday for myself, partner and three children for Orlando departing 18Nov08 from gatwick and staying in a villa at Lindfields for two weeks. We were also hiring a people carrier type car. Total price was £3008. We have paid a £625 deposit.

Since we booked in December our lives have been torn apart as my little girl who is five returned from Christmas with her father whom I left due to domestic violence, and he has been abusive to her and beaten his new wife in front of her. Of course, she totally refused to visit him again and life as been hell with police, social services and courts all involved. It has been a nightmare and this holiday has been the last thing on our minds as with facing losing custody of my little one I could not even think about it.

I have been in court today and now urgently need to change the dates, to be back in the UK by 21st November ideally. The company we booked with, Co op travel with Virgin Hols, cannot change our booking for less than £1000 which we just don't have. I need to sort this out urgently as have to tell the courts within 48 hours the dates I will be out of the country.

Can anyone quote for a holiday that compares but which has suitable dates for us? As we will be taking the children out of school then we can be entirely flexible about all other than the requirement to be back by 21st November.

We were so looking forward to our first holiday as a family and I really hope some kind person on here can suggest a way forward for us which will not break the bank.

    Please help!:o
But there are dreams that cannot be,and there are storms we cannot weather!
