Everest or Rockdoor

Agree with comments above. We had Everest round to quote on secondary glazing. Guy moved in! Was difficult to get him to leave the house. Quote was a joke in that price was 2-3 times the honest price. Then kept trying to tempt with lowering the price. Total waste of 2-3hours of precious family time.
Awful experience and I would never let them near my property again.
I expect the first price to be the best price (bar a small amount of leeway).
Subsequently had a series of local companies round. They were there for 20-30 min max, price was posted or texted. No hard sell. Went with a recommendation and excellent job done.0 -
Its legalized extortion. Safestyle are the same. One day this sort of selling will be outlawed.0

I have had a few of the big names in to quote on 3 windows over the years. Ended up using a local firm called 'Softview'. Why ?. Because their salesman admitted he was on a salary and received no comission from the sale.
He arrived, measured up, checked to see if there were any special requirements regarding replacing the old ones (such as 'must match' or 'must be set colour'), produced a quote then left it with me to decide.
I was so impressed with such low pressure salesmanshi, I ended-up enquiring about paint-free windowsills as well.
Have had to have a couple of under-warranty repairs, but they were carried-out without fuss.Never Knowingly Understood.

We have our own Joinery business and believe me that price from everest is way off
we supply and fit all timber , upvc and secondary glazing and unless your doors are super sized they are way off
if you would like to message me your sizes i will price up rock doors for you and you can compare
hope this helps :money:0 -
Everest are a cr-p company, peddling high pressure BS, with sales people who are ignorant of anything technical and interested in only one thing - namely how much commission can be shafted out of the customer. Avoid them like the plague.
How do you think the other firms make money, some people called it commission, some people it profit, either way no one is doing the job for charity.0 -

I'm sure that I've read somewhere that the best way to deal with an Everest salesperson is to say. "I only want to hear one quote for this job. This first quote must also be the last quote. I am not prepared to sit around for two hours while you tell me a load of waffle about the price".
I would think that this might tend to concentrate the salesperson's mind a little.
It would be nice to hear from anyone who has actually said this to a salesperson.0
