  • Do buyers even look at or for defects? Most I know just check out the feedback and if ok, go for it.

    Do buyers even look at or for defects? Most I know just check out the feedback and if ok, go for it.

    Buyers don't even see the defects- that isn't the point of them. They are used to restrict or ban a seller, as few as 8 unique defects for a small seller in one year is enough to see them permanently removed from ebay. Those defects include emails where a buyer is asking about a late item, buyers leaving a 'neutral' star in a certain category or been neutral feedback.

    There are some long term sellers who have been permanently banned due to defects, that's why we are all so paranoid about them.

    I only found out about 3 days ago that a seller I used a lot for small items has been banned , even though at the time they were showing 9500+ feedback with a single neutral and a minimum of 4.9 across the board.
