That's exactly where I stand on the matter now. Only gifts we buy are for children. I'd rather spend time with friends than buy 'stuff' for the sake of it.
OP, if (as you said) money is tight and you can't think what to get them, why are you bothering?
Money's not tight, I just don't want to needlessly overspend. As I said these are the only friends we buy for and they're basically family. However I've found some great things I can make at the same time as making for members of my family, I've also been juggling some crafty ideas this morn so could cost next to nothing with the same amount of 'thought'.0 -

That's what happened with me.
I was looking for ideas for some of the men in my family (as I always find them harder to buy for) and came across the hampers and am now doing them for most people0 -

Or should we just get two smaller presents?0 -
Many apologies. I jumped to conclusions in your original post. Glad you've solved your problem.
Don't be silly - I came across that way - I am perfectly happy to spend enough to make sure it's a gift they love, but I don't want to overspend on bits they don't want or need.
Thank you!0 -

My brother and sil are better off than we are. Wear designer clothes and have expensive new cars. I find it difficult to buy them something would appreciate as I wouldn't buy designer things for them. Last year I bought them a food hamper will things I know they both like. This year I have gone for a Christmas decoration/candle holder, something they can use every Christmas. I think joint gifts are fine if useful/liked by both.0
