    More info needed.

Ducted air systems can be warmed via electric, gas and heat pumps, so which is it?

That would make a significant difference, I think.

Wouldn't necessarily put me off, it would partly depend how old the system is, how much it would cost to replace etc.

When we bought our ex-council house it had gas warm air heating which was original to the house from the 60's.

It worked ok and was reasonably cheap to run, but when it went wrong it was a pain to source parts until it was no longer viable to repair. Then we got central heating installed.

Heard its expensive but dont really know.We looked at a house that had it and did put us off but only cos of what other people had said about it.
  • didnt put us off but first thing that was ripped out when we moved in and replaced with radiators. heard stories of costs and the heater was very large and old so for us it was the best thing. however we were glad we removed it when we say all of the muck and dust in it, may be that was just our house as the previous owners weren't the cleanest and we gutted every thing in the house before we moved in.
  • We had it and it was quite efficient but both me and my son are asthmatic and it played havoc with that - the air becomes very dry and it circulates any dust particles.
Wouldn't put me off if I liked the house I'd just factor in the cost of ripping it out and putting in radiators.
  • My old Mum had this and it was hilarious trying to hang wallpaper before the paste dried out. You had to be quick!

You only paper the walls in the summer when the heating is off.

Mine uses about 10,000 kWh of gas a year.

What a strange statement, any particular reason why you believe that is the case.
