Weren't ebay going to charge a final value fee for ending auctions early and cancelling bids or did that not go ahead?

They don't charge the first time you do it, only on subsequent cancellations.

They now charge FVF on all auctions cancelled after 24 hours of listing if there has ever been a bid placed.
As announced earlier this year, if you end an auction early after it has been listed for more than 24 hours and buyers have already placed bids, you will be charged a fee. This fee is the same as a final value fee, based on the highest bid price when you ended the auction.
We’ve previously waived this fee for your first early ended auction with bids every calendar year. We’re now revising this so that instead, we’ll waive the fee for any auctions cancelled within 24 hours of listing. This is regardless of whether your auction has received bids. We’re doing this because we realise sometimes you might need to take down an auction you’ve listed.

You really should have ended the auction then and taken the hit, now you will take the hit on the completed price which will be more, and have a very angry buyer who will damage your account via your stars and feedback.Although you could have cancelled the bids first.

you may not think so but your wording of the title is very misleading as is the section you listed in.

I am contacting every bidder and cancelling bids accordingly. if you think my intention is to mislead people, then you are very wrong. you cannot miss the item description.
  • Hmm. Can you cancel all the bids without ending the item, then change the title? Something like "Earphones, Charger, Cable & box for iPhone"
Or you can try phoning ebay and explaining to them that you need to cancel and relist because people are bidding as if it's an iphone.

As per my posts earlier on this thread I think drawing ebay's attention to this and some of OPs other auctions would be a very bad move.

Thank you Steve, I can't keep up with all the eBay changes.
