dont think bidders are reading the description!

I currently have an auction due to end on a brand new iphone 6 box with the charger and everything it came with - basically everything but the phone itself. I couldn't have been more clear stating in the description that the phone is not included. No photos of the phone - just the inside & outside of the box. It is now bid up to £255 and I'm concerned people aren't reading the description. Who in their right mind is going to pay that for a box and charger etc?

What I'm also concerned about is that the two highest bidders are low feedbackers with no recent activity and accounts held since 2008-10, so it seems like they've popped out of nowhere and bid on my auction.

I have contacted the highest bidder asking if they are aware the phone isn't included and offered to cancel the bid but they have so far not replied.

Am I right to be concerned? I just have one of them gut feelings about this one... :(

Selling iPhone boxes is actually forbidden on eBay, so you may well get a slap if you are reported.

I assume you have listed this correctly, ie in 'other' rather than in the mobile phone section.

If it is the listing I think it is then you have listed it in the phone section so yes, I think despite your listing stating it is only the box I think people believe they are buying the phone.

If I were you I'd cancel the bids then end the item early with no bids. Just click site map, help section and search for cancelling bids, ending auction early links.

Yes I believe it's the only one for sale ATM. Maybe I should take it off. Ebay did force me to type the word 'bundle' in the title before it would allow the listing.

Personally I would seriously consider removing that listing, and also revising your two 'art' listings where you appear to be offering off eBay sales. If you get three strikes, (2 on the art and one on the box) that could be the end of your eBay account.

You might also want to stay under the radar re the 'more than 10 items" available on the art listings, with a personal account .

Thanks for the advice Soolin. I think I will remove the phone box. Re: the art, It is free p&p on BIN. As for the 10 limit, I thought that referred to number of listings, not items. However I'll look into it.

It wasn't the postage I meant, it is the line

Unfortunately, the original work is not currently for sale. However, you are welcome to register your interest by contacting me.

The multiple items was a reference to the fact that you are a private seller, and should therefore be selling off your own second hand unwanted items, not multiple identical items , all brand new.
