Used up more of my seed, nut, almond, raisin and coconut stash to make more HM granola bars. I reckon I still have enough left to make at least 2 more trays!
Had the last of my frozen potato cakes for breakfast and am currently defrosting sausages, beans and bread rolls for my dinner tonight.
Also taking the frozen duck crown to my bf's to return the favour of making dinner for his new flatmates. I might also take the breakfast meat tray (sausages, Lorne sausage, black pudding and fruit pudding) for hangover breakfast on Saturday.“I want to be a glow worm, A glow worm's never glum'Coz how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?" ~ Dr A. I cut buttons and zips off old clothes to reuse in my crafting.
The buttons I use on my hand knitted jumpers.
Any cotton material I use in making small items on my sewing machine. Bags, cushion covers.
I have recently recovered an old sofa using a recycled curtain I bought from ebay. Fitted covers as best I could the DIY way
Looks fab.The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0 -
Today I found a bag of fancy Italian unopened pasta whilst I was walking around. So we are having it for dinner. Why not eh

I found a very discoloured £1 that I thought was a penny as I bent down to pick it up. So that's gone in the kitty and 5p I found too." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Wondering if there's a dedicated thread for re-using/recycling/customising/upcycling old and charity shop clothes. I do a lot of this and it would be fun to swap ideas. Didn't want to start a new thread as I was sure there must be already be one, but I can't find it - anyone know?

I will carry on looking, and ask elsewhere, and if it seems there isn't one, I will have a go at starting one.
Anybody have any suggestions about where it would be best placed - I know there's a crafting subforum in the celebrations section but that seems more geared to card/present making - I very rarely see any dressmaking/altering threads on it.
I'm thinking Old Style would be it's natural home as it's classic 'Make Do and Mend' really - guidance welcome.Don’t try to keep up with the Jones’s. They are broke!0 -
Today used up the other half of a pasta bake & salad from yesterday. I also used £1 I found on the floor to buy a large bag of haribo for trick or treaters." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Is this the sort of thing you're looking for? They were started a few years ago but the info doesn't go out of date

Hello, I am not sure that using up food found at the back of the cupboard comes under the heading re use and re cycle. I took it to mean an item which has been changed or altered to make something else entirely different. Like take something apart and put it back together again to give it another life. Something you would normally throw away, but keep it because it might come in useful for something else, and to keep things out of landfill. Last week
I rescued two big pallets from a house renovation down the street. They are now in my garage because I will use them to make something else. Up to now I have made a shoe rack, an outdoor table, raised beds, and a greenhouse out of old recycled timber and pallets.
Also I don't consider using up my leftovers as re-using. Yes, I might make something the following day with it, because I never throw left overs away.
IlonaI love skip diving.

I have 3 young ladies who buy quite a bit of stuff from 'Primarni'. Last Cmas I ran out of wrapping paper and was determined not to buy more. I had the brown paper Primarni bags ready to go out for recycling. I carefully dissembled the bags, cut off the handles and used the brown paper to wrap presents (with the writing inside of course). Finished off with red and green ribbon the presents looked very rustic and fashionable scattered about under the tree with all the other standard wrapped pressies. This year I'm already saving those brown bags.No buying unnecessary toiletries 2014. Epiphany on 4/4/14 - went into shop to buy 2 items, walked out with 17!0
