Local reports on the radio confirmed this afternoon that The River Thames had burst it's banks at Oxford and was working it's way to Purley, Caversham, Sonning, Henley, Maidenhead etc etc.Only 5% of those who can give blood, actually do!

Latest from sky news says the River Thames water level in Oxford is perilously high. I live just outside purley and starting to worry now.0

My Dad lives in a canal boat and they are mored on the Thames just outside Oxford. They've not left the boat since Tuesday as the water is too high.
Couple more inches and the boat will end up in the field - so this is not a good thing.I'm so boring, my clothes wanna keep someone else warm, someone cooler0 -

Yeah. The nearest lock keeper says they're best to stay where they are. But even so. Just gotta hope the moorings stay fast!!!I'm so boring, my clothes wanna keep someone else warm, someone cooler0 -
Well believe it or not, but this Wednesday, 25th, I'm booked with a friend to go on a river cruise lunch on the Thames, from Embankment to Greenwhich :rolleyes:Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0

Looks like the peak has moved through Oxford and Abingdon with minimal impact. These places are still on flood watch, but may have had the worst. Seems to be flowing through Wallingford this morning.
Apparently, the flow is slightly slower than anticipated because it has dispersed in the fields on the way down.
Pangbourne, Purley, Caversham, Reading, Henley look to be braced for later today/early tomorrow.
Certainly as I drove through Henley this morning, the river level was an inch or so from flooding the road by the bridge. Shops and houses were bagged up ready.0
