Is there much difference between the S2/S3 and the Ace
S2 are selling for around £70.00 on ebay, S3 for around £100.00

There is a world of difference spec-wise, especially if its the original Ace (Samsung love calling things Ace (Ace Plus, Ace-I etc)).
Are you meaning you have the Ace and are looking at an S2 or S3 to replace it? The S2 and S3 both have much better screens, faster processors, etc.
All of them have Android with Samsung's interface (called TouchWiz if you wanna know!) put over the top of it so are similar to use.0 -

S3 would be worth the £30 quad core and more ram0 -

try to actually hold an S2 or S3 first - they are quite big! An S3 mini might be better if you like the size of the 3gs - not quite the same spec as the S3, but still a decent upgrade from what you have now.
As above, the S3 is probably worth the extra IMO0 -
Try to get a S3 LTE version (i9305) it comes with 4G and 2GB of RAM.
It's also about to get an upgrade to Android v4.4.4This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

There are so many good budget phones on the android scene nowadays that I certainly wouldn't even consider an older phone, let alone a Samsung one!
Not sure what your budget is but I'm guessing a Moto G or LG G2 mini certainly isn't out of the equation. Those two would be my personal all choice. I know LG G2 mini is more expensive than you mentioned in OP but a Moto G isn't.This is a system account and does not represent a real person.
