I had a mega set-to with Tesco online a few years back when instead of crediting my missing items they debited them (i.e. TWICE - once on the original bill and again instead of issuing the credit) Many millions of emails flew back and forth between me and their customer "service" dept in Scotland. This gist of it from their end was that it had been credited, not debited. Once my statement arrived and I was able to PROVE that I was correct a grovelling apology followed but no form of compensation for the many wasted hours I spent trying to convince them they had got it wrong.
