Now TV sports passes

Can anyone advise, do the Now TV 1 day sports passes have an expiry date.
I'm trying to think of a way to guarantee that I can see the F1 next season.
The passes are £9.99 from Now TV or you can get them from auction sites/Gumtree etc for at least half that price, making the costs for the season £85ish. Much cheaper than the cost of a full SS subscription over 8/9 months
The idea being that I buy the passes in advance over 4 months between the end of November and the beginning of March, then just use them for the race day. (I'd miss qualifying and the practice sessions but just having the race is better than nothing).

Now TV passes purchased from retailers have a 12 month expiry. Can anyone advise, do the Now TV 1 day sports passes have an expiry date.
Passes purchased from auction sites will often have a shorter expiry, given that they are often being sold on by individuals or are promotional codes with shorter expiry dates. The seller will generally state the expiry date in their advert.
Other points to consider:
Now TV passes on auction sites are often available cheaper when their expiry date is imminent. In August, for example, I purchased a number of day passes at around £2 each, which expired at the end of August.
Now TV are currently selling day passes at £6.99 & week passes at £10.99. This is due to increase to £9.99 & £14.99 on 27/11/14.
Only 1 Sky Sports Day Pass can be loaded to a Now TV account at a time. After loading it to an account (before the expiry date!), the pass must then be activated (used!) within 365 days.0 -
I was thinking of buying the 7 day pass, but was wondering when the 7 days start & end, ie if you active it at 3pm on a Saturday does it end at 3pm the following Saturday or does it end at mid-night on the Friday?
Just a thought that if there is a late kick off the first Saturday and an early kick off the next Saturday you should be able to watch both matches....or a late F1 start and a week later an earlier start (on a back to back weekend).0 -

So could you buy several passes, either from an auction site or before the price increase on 27/11/14 and load them all but use them as and when you want over the next 12 months (ie, when the F1 races / weekends are on) or will they just active one after another when one runs out?0 -

Yes, the pass would expire the following Saturday in your example, 7 days after you activate it.PPI success. Banding success. Double Dip PCN cancelled! South facing solar (Midlands) and battery. Savings Session supporter (is it worth it now!?)0 -

No. You can only have one sports pass on the account at any time.
You load one pass.
You activate it when ready.
Then once watched, you can load the next pass.
and repeat...PPI success. Banding success. Double Dip PCN cancelled! South facing solar (Midlands) and battery. Savings Session supporter (is it worth it now!?)0 -
No- pete-20-11's posts explains it well.So could you buy several passes, either from an auction site or before the price increase on 27/11/14 and load them all but use them as and when you want over the next 12 months (ie, when the F1 races / weekends are on) or will they just active one after another when one runs out?
Re the price change information, Sky are attempting to accelarate growth in Now TV Sports passes at present, hence the current promotional prices and introduction of a weekly pass.
There's no doubt that some feel £9.99 for a Sky Sports day pass is too expensive, so I wouldn't assume that price will "stick" when/if they re-introduce it, as apparently intended.
Now TV prices have been reduced or an increase delayed in the past, so when considering what you pay on an auction site, there's an element of guessing the level of saving you'll be making, especially if buying considerably in advance of intended use.0 -
I'm not a big sports fan and not into football, but I like F1. When it's live on the BBC that's fine and when it's only live on Sky I've been using the Sky Sports Mobile iPhone App. which is the full sky sports pack for £4.99 for 1 month.
However; I can only watch in on my iPhone / iPad (not on my TV), the picture quality isn't great and the price as increased.
So I thought Now TV could be the answer, but the day pass is very expensive for what you get and I can't watch the Friday / Saturday sessions qualifying, therefore a week pass is cheaper and is more on par to the cost of Sky Sports via Sky dish. I think Sky should reduce the day pass to £4-£5 and add a weekend pass for £7.50 & the week pass for £100 -
Look out for packs of Carling lager or Cider that have a free Sky sports day pass on them.
I think you can use up to 5 free passes per promotion per account and have to be redeemed by June 2015.
I don't think this promotion is on in Scotland.0
