Pavers, http://www.pavers.co.uk/ and also have stores nationwide sell a number of ranges of comfortable shoes. I have very limited mobility (in a wheelchair most of the time but do use sticks around the house) and do have problems with severe swelling in my feet/lower legs. Fly Flots in particular are very comfortable and good quality but I've also had others from this company and been happy with them. I also have asics running trainers (not that I run..) as they were recommended to me by my physio. HTH :)

One thing I look for, that is useful when your feet swell, is velcro fastenings. They mean you can adjust them during the day, and it helps if, like mine, the swelling is different in each foot.

I was referred to a Podiatrist and was given insoles for my shoes. Made my legs and feet so much worse. I wore them 3 times then they went in the bin.

Were they made to measure ones from the Orthotics Department in the hospital.

When I first tried mine out the orthotics assistant told me they would make walking fell a bit odd to start with, which was a sign that myl feet position and balance were being corrected by the custom made shoes and insoles.

He also said to only wear them for up to half an hour to start with, then build up from there.
