Girly holiday advice

Hi everyone,

4 of us have decided to go on a girly weekend next summer (end of June/beginning of July) but are stuck on where to go. Preferably, we want an evening flight on Thursday or Friday and to come back on Sunday night/Monday. We're looking for somewhere to lay by the pool or beach/shop in the day and go out partying in the evening. Our age range is early to late twenties.

One of the group has never flown before and I really don't like flying, so it has to be somewhere relatively close by. So far we've thought of Ibiza, Marbella, Barcelona, Majorca and Benidorm to name a few!

We've all been trawling the net, but everything is either really expensive or only available for 7 days or more :( Our budget is around £300 for the holiday/£500 if you include everything else.

Does anyone have any tips on finding somewhere?

TIA

I presume that budget is each, not total? Think you'd struggle if it's total. Are you just looking at packages or are you looking at flights & hotels separately? Have a look at the budget airlines, ryanair, easyjet, jet2 etc, and booking.com for hotels. With 4 getting a taxi is likely to make sense for transfers, the airport website might give you an idea of cost.

Gumbet is a nice area in turkey - prices are from £253pp for a week at end of June

Have a look on the thomson website, I can't seem to post my search on here.

Yes sorry, that was a budget per person not the group :o I've been looking at flight + hotel packages.

I know parts of Turkey are lovely, but it's a bit too far for us to travel there just for a weekend. We're thinking of somewhere closer so we can spend more time holidaying.

Or look on Skyscanner for flights and Trivago for accomodation.

Avoid marbella, overpriced and over rated. I was there earlier this year and our cost £1k for 4 days and I am not a heavy drinker but everything there has a massively inflated price.

Yeah, it seems to have become a popular place to go since TOWIE etc al give it so much publicity. It's the same with Ibiza. One of the girl's sisters went last year and was paying €50 just to get into a nightclub!

I've looked at a few city breaks, but I think they would prefer a beach resort.

The ocean club pool party was £300 to get into this year but you do get free champagne all day!

  • Out of those I'd pick Mallorca (Magaluf if you want a party resort, with Palma city being great for culture and shopping) or Benidorm. Turkey is too far for a weekend or if you are looking at a short flight.

Jet2holidays will do any duration to those resorts in the summer and you can specify a 'late and lively' resort/hotel. Try another package company or easyjet/monarch etc if jet2 don't fly from your preferred airports.

    Benidorm proobably fits the bill

The dearest bit will be the flights so you need to look on skyscanner and have a play around with the dates and what airport to fly from
Guessing you will be looking at either Easyjet or Ryanair (both have now released their summer 2015 flights)

Then have a look at either Travelrepublic or Alpharooms for accomodation

You can get transfers from Alicante to Benidorm for about £7 each return

Eating out in Benidorm is cheap as well so that should keep the costs down
    Have a nice day :)
