Not going terribly well for us this month
My Dad is visiting from overseas so we are spending more than usual. Had an early Christmas dinner at my Sister's yesterday - I got the turkey and pigs in blankets, she did veg and puddings.
Will definitely look to restart my 2nd purse in the New Year, as that used to work really well for us in terms of bulk buying.
Hope all are well.

£300 again for me please, even though i went over target in October. I'm hoping to do an AF order, but in my mind i want to spend less than £300 all month; so will try and make some wiggle room somewhere.
Spent £7.11 yesterday at Asd* whilst on break at work; but came home so although i did spend on busfare , i wasn't idling my way round the shops tempting myself with more grocery spends.
About 1pm today, i nipped out for sliced bread and managed to get four packs of choc chip brioche for 25p each, Teacakes for 25p, scotch pancakes for 19p, and four pints of 1% milk (which is on my order from Asd*s later - stuff i can't carry from work - so will hand that back) for 45p. Aswell as the sliced loaf and some bananas. So that total was only, £3.29
Asd* spend later is around about £60.00 ...will try to only top up through the week, for fresh stuff. Chucked so much fruit and yoghurts that got wasted over half term. Must get the Easi Yo out, which is what it was bought for ... to make as we need it and add own flavourings!!
Sorry for mammoth post.

02/10 £1.80
03/10 £1, £3.47 and £6.07 I didn't make a list then forgot stuff so went to one of the cheaper shops.
My chicken has enough leftovers for tea tonight and tomorrow so leaving lamb leg steaks in freezer for another week. Getting a second batch of stock ready with the carcass I froze a few weeks ago, roasting the bones and some veg - might take a meat meal off the menu and add another soup one

I have wondered about the easiyo or similar. Do you have to buy the packs to make the yoghurt, or is there an easier/cheaper way? If you have to have the packs, I don't think it's very cost effective, but if there's a secret recipe, then I may have to try it!!! Does anyone have any help for me?!! Hi everyone
can I join in this month? It's going to be a bit of a tight month for me, I'm aiming to spend no more than £50
Thankfully I have a plenty in the cupboards and freezer that's so full I'm struggling to close the door properly
so it should be do-able!! November Grocery Challenge - £39.53/£500 -

Wasted some on a pot of fruit and breakfast bar as I missed breakfast. Yday had to but bacon and toilet roll.
Hoping for some NSDs now as have menu plan and bursting fridge

Hiya everyone and welcome to Effyb4 and Charlie-brown. Good luck with this challenge

That sounds fun as I could do them on my platter and save fuel. Just wondering if the cheese melts the same ??january_23 wrote: »I defrosted 4 ready made pizzas on the countertop for the Halloween bash then cooked them on the hob. They were well received, although they were a little burnt on the bottoms opps. Howver the main of it was that it worked, much to the surprise of my OH!
I thought the same about the easi-thingy and looked on the site of Amozo. I now have the one from puddleland and it works a treat. Just leave it to do its own thing overnight and pour off any whey when you decant. Easy to make and easy to clean - it just costs long-life semi- milk tetras which I buy in A*di or L*dl and add own fruit/honey/whatever afterwards. I keep it in some 500gm pots and its okay for the week. I buy a new small starter every 6 weeks as it starts to degrade.PennyGrabber wrote: »Help and advice please!

Best way to save spending eh - don't go out :rotfl:

Hmmm I just got an email from Hello_fresh giving me a £15 voucher for returning to them, I already have £13 credit on my account I wonder if it will stack? I think it's £39 for 3 meals for 2 people so that would make it £11. They keep sending me £15 vouchers and then I cancel after a certain amount of time and they send me another one!Stay at home Mum to DS Oct 2011 and DD Dec 2013
