Morning all, next door had a gas leak last night so our mains gas was turned off as they are returning today to replace all the pipes, just hoping it's back on before this evening so we can have a bath. Luckily I've got a slow cooker so we're having beef stew for tea as our cooker is also Gas.
Should be an NSD as we have everything in we need.Grocery Challenge 2024

Have you ever heard the term stove top pizza? (obviously not sure if your oven is like mine and the top works independently)
In a frying pan - its how we used to make them when camping.
I defrosted 4 ready made pizzas on the countertop for the Halloween bash then cooked them on the hob. They were well received, although they were a little burnt on the bottoms opps. However the main of it was that it worked, much to the surprise of my OH!
Our A&C delivery oddly hasn't arrived yet (usually arrives before 8am) but when it does I will add it to my November spends.2 adults groceries: June £35.79/£200

Nothing spent so far this month. Yesterday we had roast beef and all the usual things. 8 year old grand daughter wanted to make the Yorkshire puddings and they rose beautifully. She was really pleased as were we all. Usually buy the Aunt Be$$ie one that you then cook so also saved money as they £1.50 for 12 and we got 12 for around £0.40 :money: would have been cheaper but we used two eggs instead of one.
Tonight we have lamb chops, salad potatoes and salad. Everything in already.MARCH £62.38/2500 -

With one egg your yorkies probably wouldn't have risen very much, they seem to need the extra egg to rise properly. Also, I don't know whether you used all milk but if you use milk/water mix it would certainly reduce the cost a bit more.

A&C arrived.
We are now at £61.06.
Our budget is £200 for the month but as signature says would love to spend £160 or less. I am aiming for the lesser so in my head I have £98.84 left for the month.
25/28 days left so just under £2/day for each of us. When I see it like that it seems doable. Certainly with our full freezers and basically full cupboards. No need to buy cleaning, laundry or toiletries as they are covered until the end of the year at least. That means the only real expense should be OH's milk as well as fresh fruit and veg each week and the like.
Lunch for me will be baked sweet potato (done in microwave) with salad, OH is having left over pizza.
Dinner we will likely to be having fajitas. If OH doesn't feel like that he'll probably do a pasta dish so he can take the left overs for lunch tomorrow.2 adults groceries: June £35.79/£200

I just did something clever (I think...)
I had a voucher for £25 off at Gousto - a sort of food delivery box with the ingredients for particular reciepies, apparently.
Anyhow, it's £££ - I would never buy from there normally. But I realised with my voucher, a box would be £8.99. THEN I realised that there's £10 cashback on TopCashBack for your first order, so decided to risk it. IF IT WORKS (and I know the cashback might not track because of the voucher) then I will be 1 box of posh food and £1.01 in credit :T. Otherwise, I think the £8.99 for the box probably works out reasonably priced compared to a supermarket. I've put the £8.99 in my grocery spend total, but will take it off if I get the cashback!
They've sent me another voucher for £25 for a friend (and will give me another £15 if you use it!) so PM me if you're interested... like I said though, I don't know if the cashback will track.0
