Housing benefit worked out wrong?

This is not the amount that is being charged for rent, this is the amount that your mother's benefit is being reduced by (whether you give her the money or not)
£6.31 x 16 hours = £100.96 per week (there will be no tax or NI to come off) so agree your mother's deduction should be £14.15 per week.
I suspect it is something simple as an error over whether the payslips were weekly rather than fortnightly (34 hours in a week does not jump out as being odd, the average of the 2 would fit with your mother's deduction)
Your mother needs to confirm to the housing benefit that these are fortnightly and not weekly so they can correct the deduction from her benefit
Yes, I'm aware of this, but because this is deducted from her housing benefit, I have to pay the difference.
That's what I was thinking but when my mom rang up about it they told her they did have it down that it was on a fortnightly basis, which is why I'm confused.
The average of 2 what would fit her deductions? and she already told them from the start that it's on a fortnightly basis, but she recieved a letter saying that I earn a gross pay on average of £170 something, but I've never earnt that in a week, and I'm only earning abit more than that in two weeks. the most ive earnt in a week was around £120.0 -

As regards the week which takes you up to the next threshold they may do an average of so many weeks so take your payslips in on a regular basis until they tell you to stop.
Yes, I may do that.
They do it on the amount I earn on a weekly basis, and they only want one more payslip.0 -
Would I be able to get a reply please im quite concerned about this, and thankyou for all of your other replies0

have you followed up the reply in post #11?
only the council can confirm how they have calculated it. A number of people on a public forum agreeing that it may be incorrect will not change anything, only the council can0 -

I needed to have my manager write on my payslip that some of the extra hours I had on this payslip were from previous weeks which they were, otherwise I would have gone over the £128 a week threshold, so I'm hoping that will be fine, as it was only a once off as he forgot to add the hours on when i worked them a few weeks ago, and obviously now ive mentioned to him about it they've been added onto this times payslip which won't look good for me if they think I did more overtime in that period.0 -
Who actually prepares your payroll? It should show clearly that you are getting paid for eg payroll week 27 + 28 It should also clearly itemise which week any overtime was due. You shouldn't have to explain it??0

What do you mean by who prepares my payroll? i believe my manager sends the payroll the amount of hours ive done in those two weeks, and then it gets put through like that. it says at the top like week 20, but not week 20 + 21. and it's written like basic pay: 24 which is two weeks of my 12 hour contract, and then underneath overtime, and the amount of overtime i did in those two weeks.0 -

so based on the fact that it only mentions one week at the top of the payslip and the fact that the combined hours are lower than a full time job it is very likely that this looks like, and is being treated like a weekly pay. Does it not break down the hours by week - I guess it appears like you are only submitting a payslip every 2 weeks but there is a missing one in between. Once you have more payslips they will be able to see from the pay to date figures that there is not a payslip in between0 -
You need to follow the council's appeals procedure. In the letter they sent with the decision it will say what to do if you don't agree. It usually says you have so many days to appeal so make sure you do it within the time limit.0
