Dipsy indeed.... Ofcom - is that a JOKE??? Wasting your time. Nothing to do with them. You sign two contracts when you apply for the phone. The one with the dealer and cashbacks is totally separate to the one with the network. Sue the dealer and don't stop paying direct debits.

so nice when people are polite.....

    Im NOT stupid!!!!!

I was saying what Orange advised me.. .sorry Im not a mobile expert....or someone who wishes to sue at the drop of a hat, seeing your previous posts seems to me you seem very keen on advising court action quite alot

I was merely saying what Orange told me, and I didn't sign a contract whatsoever..... I bought over the phone.....

I understand the need to not cancel the D/D..... !!!!!!

Trust you can be polite the next unfortunate who posts on here instead of being rude!!!!!!

dipsy, I suppose mobilejunkie is trying to get it through to people that there is a tried and tested way to get your cashback in a timely manner.

OFCOM, Trading standards, Solicitors, Empty threats, Citizens advice etc etc aren't the way to go.

The fact that you didn't sign a contract is neither here nor there. :A
Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.

dipsy, Ofcom are a waste of time.
You need to send a recorded delivery letter informing them that they have not abided by the T&C's and to give a deadline for payment. Tell them failure to pay will result in recovering this DEBT via the small claims court to recover ALL costs.

Have a look at this link, expertly written and very informative - thread #7

    It may help.

I understand what you are saying as you have more experience than me and therefore if my money is not forthcoming in the next week, as they said they would send it, after my partner turned up on their doorstep, guess they thought as I was in the North of England the chances of someone turning up at theirs was slim, my partner told them that if the cheque wasn't with me as promised he would call in to say hello again next week :-)

thanks for your help, if I don't have any luck with them then I will take it further

    Thanks again

Absolutely correct. These Government bodies are set up to protect the members of that particular industry and the Government itself. The only time they would do something is if there was a public outcry.
If they were true overseers of this industry by now they would have instructed the Network providers to take more responsibility for the actions of their approved agents.
