So I managed to take the front off the dimmer switch to see the gubbins inside!
Does anyone know if the following switch is a direct replacement for the switch I have installed? This is the cheapest I found for this dimmer and I hope this will do the trick!
Varilight LED Dimmer Switch - V-Pro Series, 1 Gang (Single), 1 or 2 Way, 400 Watt (Trailing Edge)

The user manual makes no sense to me... I think I have a 1 way switch but dont know where the red and black wires would need to go.

Any advice on this would be most appreciated.
Many Thanks0 -
It's a one way circuit.
Red should be the live feed. (do you have a neon screwdriver to check?)
Black goes to the light fitting(s)
The first diagram on the instruction sheet shows the live connects to "c" (common) the black connects to either of the "L" (lamp) terminals as indicated. The other "L" terminal is not used.
(That earth wire could do with some earth sheathing on it);)0
