Landlord legal Insurance

Hi all wonder if I can pick your brains.
I own a few properties. Good area. The majority of the flats are owned a handful rented out.
Since day one I've had issues. The residents committee is very anti landlord. So much so they have tried to make life very difficult for me. But I'm a decent person and fully understand that they want to manage the flats to a high spec in terms of tenants etc so have bent over backwards to accommodate them. But it's now becoming apparent nothing I do will be good enough.
The committee is now using a estate agent that deal with complaints and conflict resolution but they are equally as bad and having googled the companies name they have grim reviews.
My question is twofold.
Is there a governing body I can lodge a formal complaint to about the estate agents?
And can anyone recommend some type of insurance that has legal entitlement and any idea of cost etc?
Very grateful for any advice.

Anyone any words of advice please?0

Insurance for what exactly?
What are you going to complain about?0 -
i believe the overbearing attitude and behaviour on the property managements side is racially motivated. They already told me in a meeting in front of a witness that they would not let to Indian tenants because of the cooking smells. This is when they were putting pressure on me to give them the management of my properties which I manage myself.0

I firmly believe and can prove that there overbearing conduct is unprofessional and they are out to cause me constant harrasement as a landlord.0

So why haven;t you sued them??
harassment (two s's .., one r.. ) is a criminal offence btw... see
http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1997/40/crossheading/england-and-wales
- but also a civil matter
And regarding racist remarks when you reported them to the Police what happened??0 -
I still don't understand what your relationship with this ea is.
If you have evidence of racial discrimination then report it to the police.0 -
Sorry I'm not making myself clear at all
There is a management committee that use these agents to collect the maintaince fees. They also act for the committee in dealing with conflict resolution any problems that may arise etc
I didn't report the matter to the police because I do have a good understanding of criminal law and I know for a fact it would not have gone anywhere. Hard for me to expand on that point on a public forum.0 -
Landlords Legal Insurance normally does not cover existing disagreements although they may provide legal advice via a helpline for it0

Seems to me that the owner occupiers who have paid £££££££ for there homes do not want anybody renting the properties you own !
What can the management committee and the estate agents/Letting agents do to you?
Perhaps a recording of the next meeting of the residents committee.
You will struggle to get Insurance to sue anybody.
"I firmly believe and can prove that there overbearing conduct is unprofessional "
We are talking about estate agents being Unprofessional here?
Are the members of the ARLA or other body.
All Estate agents/Letting agents now have to join one of the redress bodies0 -
Many thanks for your replies much appreciated.
It's such a long winded story far to long to go into. I'm a decent person and have really gone above and beyond to appease the residents committee. I even evicted my first lot of tenants in one of the properties to keep them happy.
I think the bottom line here is what can they actually do to me? They may try and make life uncomfortable for me with the constant list of complaints against my tenants but I will stand my ground.
In fact I may not be able to take any form of legal action but there's more than one way to skin a cat.
