Seat belts in the back seat, is it the same law as seat belts in the front seats?

hello all,
Modern cars now have fitted seat belts in the back seats.
Years back, there is was big thing of belting up in the front.
(clunk, click, every trip!!)
If seat belts are fitted in the back seat of a car, do people use these??? we all remember the dolls going into the back heads of the front drivers.
what does the law say about back seat belts? I think the highway code says something about, if seat belts are fitted, they must be used.
Any thoughts????

Thought?
I think you should use them.
The law says you must wear them too. If you're over 14 and you don't you get prosecuted. If you're under 14 and you don't the driver does.0 -

You're obviously not a driver as you'd know this.
But a bit of advice for you. Someone has posted a link to that part of the Highway Code. If it says must and at the bottom of a paragraph it shows the section of the road traffic act that covers it. That is the law or legislation that covers it and allows it to be enforced.0 -
thank you, most of the info i knew already, i wonder how many people belt up in the back though?Trinidad - The hottest place to go0 -

Er, all of them?
Except those who aspire to the Darwin Awards - and we don't need their sort anyway.0 -

My MIL does not put a belt on by default in the back. I find a little spirited driving soon changes her mind.0

If I am giving anyone a lift in the back I always ask them to put the seat belt on.0
