Zen broadband - any of you with them?

I was with Zen some years ago but switched to o2 as they were cheaper. The speeds on o2 were horrendous which i found were due to them traffic managing or whatever it's called so i switched back to Zen who i've been with for a good few years now.

All was great until this past week. I've been suffering hellishly slow speeds. On a normal day i'd be getting anything between 6.50Mbps-7.00Mbps according to speedtest.net.

This past week in the evening i've been getting about 1.50Mbps if that. Some times i'll reach the dizzy heights of 2.00Mbps but it's generally in the 1.00-2.00 bracket.

Nothing else connected, just my PC hard wired to the router.

Kicks in around 8:00pm & lasts like this until around 10:00pm although today i finished work earlier & it was like this when i went on at 5:50pm. In the morning it is fine.


I emailed Zen, just waiting on their reply.

Just wondering if it's a Zen problem or something my end.

    Have you looked at your line data on your portal in case there has been a problem that has dropped your BRAS?

    I'm with Zen but have no problems, it sounds like you may have a line issue.

    Your customer Portal at https://myaccount.zen.co.uk/sign-in.aspx

    Within that (on the left hand side) select My Services. You should then see a clickable link called ' View Line Data' Click on that.

    You should now see a table of your line data rate

    If you see low numbers here then that indicates that the exchange equipment is seeing a problem on your line and is lowering the connection speed until it can get a stable connection
