Hmmm. If it takes 1 candle to light a room 6ft x 4ft, how many candles will be needed to..... :eek:0 -

.... to light up the computer screen well enough to see what banner you need to click to start the test?
Zero, because the computer screen itself is likely the brightest thing in a dark room0 -
I'm not publishing my score
Surfice to say, my husband came in half way through the test and started 'helping' with some of his 'strongly held facts'
Also, in one of the questions - the one about the value of the 9 in a series of numbers, one of the 9s wasn't underlined, which confused me
I'll give it another go when he goes out. Would be more useful if told you which you'd got wrong though.0 -
Not publishing mine either. I blame rushing cos I wanted to watch QPR v Liverpool... and i couldn't find the tab to save your results and pick up later.
That's my excuse anyway. Better than the dog ate my homework, sir.0 -
On a similar matter I commented on someone posting an image on Facebook the other day which contained the comment "Another day gone without having to use any algebra".
I think the point was designed to show in a humorous fashion what a waste of time it was for that person to have been taught algebra at school, when in fact it seems what was missing was how to relate algebra to real life.0 -

Buy brighter bulbs?
And is your computer screen not back-lit?0 -

98/100 here too. I calculated the recipe cost on the basis of using 1.2 packs of butter reather than buying 2 packs because you guys said you did 2 pack and got only 98%. So maybe I made a different error.
I enjoyed the challenge - I would have liked to know where I dropped 2%. I liked the format. I think it was trying to ensure that any literacy problem didn't get in the way of assessing the numeracy.
I got 100% buying 2 packs of butter, so that'll be where you dropped the 2%0 -
