I tried to take it but it seems to insist you register beforehand, is there no direct link to the challenge?

It accepts any old registration details, and then takes you directly to the challenge.

98/100 here too. I calculated the recipe cost on the basis of using 1.2 packs of butter reather than buying 2 packs because you guys said you did 2 pack and got only 98%. So maybe I made a different error.

I enjoyed the challenge - I would have liked to know where I dropped 2%. I liked the format. I think it was trying to ensure that any literacy problem didn't get in the way of assessing the numeracy.

Decided to really test myself and not use a calculator for anything.

    not very good, 94/100

I can't check my answers against the correct results. I put things like £2.00 for two packs of butter despite the recipe requiring less because obviously you can't buy 1/4 of one pack. etc..

I did the same as it appeared to be trying to do a real world example with the total bill for shopping and in that case you can't just divide a pack up in the shop.
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

Me too. Seems they punish you for this as I only managed 96/100. But as they don't tell you what they consider the right answers, I might have got something else wrong, and we shan't know whether this answer was correct or not. Got a "Gold" cert though, and have no financial worries, so why worry

I couldn't find the test. That must be a special form of dimness.
I kept ending up on some challenge site that wanted me to register, with a huge form.

Just fill in the "huge" form with real or made up details. Takes less than 20 seconds. Then you can do the test immediately. Remember the test takes some 20 minutes or so. May be not for you if you are impatient.

It's not so much impatient as can't see much in the evenings, by the light of an energy efficient lightbulb, to be honest. Once it goes dark of an evening, most activities are out of the question. Kitchen's the black hole of calcultta and the living room's just a dim hovel.
