bt broadband usage monitor not aligned to bill period

My bt broadband usage monitor has always been for the same period as my bill period (from 14th to 13th of the month) and therefore easy for me to monitor. In the last 3 months the online usage monitor is now working from 1st to last of the month, therefore making sure that I do not go over my allowance nearly impossible.
Today I have tried to complain to BT by email and over the phon, but didn't get anywhere. The email advisor told me to keep logging in every day and keep adding up the usage (yes, I know, what a good way to increase my usage by going on every day lol) and when I tried to lodge complaint over the phone I could not get ruder customer service advisor, who was 'fibbing' and flatly REFUSED to give me their answer in writing.
I have explained to them that A they didn’t let me know about this change B this change puts me into disadvantage, as I can’t see my allowance clearly C this change force me to log on to the monitor more often therefore increasing my usage E since BT has done this, every single month i have incurred additional charges for broadband. F if they can see my usage allowance during my bill period, why can't I?
I am not going to repeat everything I was told, but the refusal to put their answer in writing makes me think that \I am onto something. Surely, there will be other customers like me who will struggle to work out their usage, as it is not user friendly. Does anyone else have their usage monitor for a different period than their bill and how do you cope with this?

It is a poor bandwidth monitor often a day out .
I use NetWorkX to monitor .

But looks like the BT monitor works on a monthly basis rather than an individual one of 31 flavours and you get charged if your calender month allowance is over .So keep inside the limit per month not per billing period .0 -
Would it be easier to change the billing date?
Or you could just not use BT for broadband...0 -
Isn't it cheaper to pay for unlimited broadband rather than pay over use charges?0

I have asked and bt allow this?!0

no bt told me that they monitor for my bill period not my monthly one, so your suggestion does not help, but thanks for trying. bt also refuses to amend my bill period and I have signed new contract 6 months ago. the change happened 3 months ago.0
